Resilient Reasons

Resilient Reasons: The Dallas Stars have gotten the worst possible news on the devastating injury to veteran Tyler Seguin, and his season is done.

The team announced that Seguin, who went down Tuesday night, has suffered an ACL injury and is expected to be out for the rest of the season. It was almost exactly a year ago that the veteran center was forced to undergo hip surgery, which kept him out of 62 games. He returned for their playoff run to the Western Conference Finals.

Resilient Reasons: This injury occurred just two minutes into the Stars’ game with the New York Rangers, when Vladislav Gavrikov fell awkwardly on the Dallas veteran’s leg.

The Stars will almost certainly place Seguin on season-ending LTIR, freeing up his $9.85 million salary to make additions to the team.

Seguin has seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points in 27 games this season. He has one more season left after this one on his eight-year contract.
